One factor that determines page load time is the size of your images. It’s important to resize large images to make each page load fast.  Easy Thumbnails is a handy freeware utility for doing just that.

Accept Donations Online

As a church or non-profit, you’ve probably created a website to help spread your message.  Your website can be a great way to promote your fundraising needs 24/7.

By accepting donations online, your organization can make your supporters aware of a specific need and immediately make a donation online toward satisfying that need.

You’ve likely experienced this first hand if you’ve supported an election.  Using a tool like ConstantContact (http://www.constantcontact.com) candidates email all their supporters informing them they need to raise more money to help with a specific campaign.  You get online, donate, and they win!

Hosting your own “Secure File Downloads”

There are two reasons you might want to host your own files for the “Secure File Downloads.”

 1) The files are very big (100MB+)

2) Files are too sensitive even for our secure servers to host

There are essentially three steps to host your own files, but still allow the PayConcepts shopping cart system to faciliate the payment process and give your customers immediate access to their download.

1) Setup a convienent download URL

2) Install our download script on your webhost

3) Upload “blank” files that represent the files you host

Setup a convienent download URL

It’s easiest for your customers if they have a URL like http://downloads.yourhost.com.  If you know how to, setup a subdomain with your webhost or registrar.  Then email this to us so we can record it in your account.

This URL is then attached to receipts and confirmation emails that your customer receives after purchasing from you. 

Install Our Download Script

We have a script you can use that serves as a download page for your customers.  You can customize parts of it to achieve a consistent look/feel with your website. 

This script checks that the download PIN # your customer uses is valid, and then “pushes” out the file they purchased.

Upload Blank Files

We need to know the part #’s and filename’s for your files you wish to sell.  The easiest way to do this is to use Notepad to create blank files with the correct filename’s - and then upload them via your “Secure File Delivery” menu option in your PayConcepts control panel.

Let’s say I have an eBook I wish to sell, and I have it saved on my webhost as “ebook.pdf”

Order Confirmations

Newbies to eCommerce often ask us just how they and their customer are notified of a successful order. We’ve compiled a list of a few questions that are often asked - and answered them.

Will the purchaser automatically receive a “Thanks Your For Your Purchase” notification?

Yes. When your customer completes a purchase on your shopcart they’ll be presented with a printable receipt, as well as be sent an email receipt. Both receipts thank them for their order and provide your contact information. (This is information you provide us in your Shopcart Preferences.)

How am I notified of the purchase?

You’ll receive an email. It’s the same email the customer gets, but has a “(COPY)” in the subject line. The email address we send the confirmation to should be kept up to date in your Shopcart Preferences.

You can also periodically check Sales Reports to see recent orders. It’s always a good idea to print off a monthly sales report and store it for your business records!

Ok - we were never asked this one. :) But just in case you forgot - your Shopcart Preferences are found by logging into your account and clicking “Shopcart Preferences” from the right-side menu.

Accepting Payments

Accepting payments from customers right from your website is as simple as the click of a button! This is a great way for organizations to collect payments from their clients, customers, team members.

  • Have a deposit/fee for sports teams? Just use our Accept Payment option on your website and easily collect funds!
  • Have a non-profit and want to be able to allow people to donate to your cause? Use our payment service to accept any amount of money!
  • Wedding photographer? Collect the down payment for a date, or even collect the entire payment
  • Professional services, like Accountants, will love the ability to allow clients to pay invoices online
  • Literally, any organization that collects money for any reason can use this service! The convenience is evident!

All you have to do is create a “Make Payment” button from your Buy Buttons link on your control panel, and from that button, customers can input any amount they wish!

When users click on the “Make Payment” button, they will be taken to a page where they can choose the amount to pay as well as reason for the payment:

Once they submit their payment, you can view all orders in the “Sale Reports” page:

Then from this page, you can click on “View Order Receipt/Packing List” to view a receipt of the order in case you need to print it out or keep a copy of it!

The most convenient way to accept payments in a clear and organized system that allows you to accept any amount of payment and keep a record of it, as well as have your own record of receipts at your fingertips!

Selling Digital Goods

To actually allow your customers to purchase the files, you need to create a special Buy Button just for File Downloads. In your Buy Button Wizard you can choose which type of Buy Button you are creating.

Then it’s a matter of setting the price, and making the button fit your website color scheme.

Simply copy/paste the generated HTML - and you’re ready to sell!

Customers follow the normal checkout process, but after the transaction they’ll be greeted with an additional item on the receipt. They’ll be given a URL and Passcode to download the file immediately.

They’ll also receive two emails (as will you as a “copy”), one is the receipt for the purchase and the other is the details to download the file immediately.
